Youth - YOGA **IF YOU ARE AN ORGANIZATION PLEASE FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW AS THIS IS APPLICATION IS ONLY FOR YOUTH SPECIFIC** https://forms.gle/SQEQ2Z4Y6ydVKfN69 The Pine County Chemical Health Coalition will be awarding mini-grants for youth in Pine County. The funds are intended to directly support the youth in the community to encourage healthy behaviors, create new opportunities for connections, and reduce substance use. Some examples of how these grants can be used: - Sports or activity fees - Payment to a coach or supervisor for a NEW youth activity - Supplies for group activities (anything necessary for the group or activity to function) - Starting a new group - Group outings (team building, registration fees, etc.) - Snacks or food for the group - Be creative! Frequently Asked Questions (this section will be updated if new questions come in): 1. Any income limits? No. 2. Can larger organizations apply? The requests need to be for activities that traditionally would not be funded through other grant opportunities. If you are a large organization with access to grant opportunities, please consider other funding sources before applying. The intent of these funds is for youth who might otherwise not have access to mini-grant opportunities. 3. What do you mean the money needs to go to an organization? Due to auditing, we can only pay organizations directly, not individuals. However, individuals can apply for individuals needs (such as a child's activity fees or uniforms) and then we can work with the organization identified. 4. Can only youth apply? No, adults and youth are both welcome to apply, but funding must go towards youth-focused activities. 5. Can these funds support church or faith-based activities? Yes, if the activity aligns with the purpose of the mini-grants - positive youth activities. 6. Who gets to keep the supplies purchased? For individual level supplies, such as uniforms, the items are theirs to keep. For more durable things like sports equipment, that is the organization's responsibility. 7. Where did this money come from? The mini-grants are funded through the national Opioid Settlement Fund, of which Pine County is a recipient. The funding is intended for opioid prevention and recovery, and supporting youth to participate in positive, pro-social activities is a substance use prevention strategy. 8. Is there a deadline? Applications will be reviewed as they are received, no deadlines. 9. Do you need to live in Pine County to apply? The youth being supported must either live or go to school in Pine County. 10. Can we use this to pay for things we already have funding for? If you are an organization requesting funding, we are asking that you only request for activities you do not already have funding for. (In other words, do not supplant current funding.) Example: You host an end of the year celebration for students and have already budgeted for supplies and planned to pay for it, please do not request this funding. This is intended for increasing and creating new opportunities, or for youth to access current activities they may not be able to afford. 11. Is there a deadline? Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until all funds are expended. Please anticipate a few weeks turn around time for review and processing payment. 12. Can these funds be used to fund fundraisers? No.
